Why is this important? It is allowing you to position your company in the marketplace and helps you find the customer that is looking for your product. There is a saying; “jack of all trades, master of none.” This essentially means that a generalist can do everything “OK’ while a specialist does one thing exceptionally well. People will pay a lot more for an expert than someone who does “OK.”

The same is true when you are focusing on your target audience. Sure, you can sell to everyone who will buy from you. But you will quickly discover that it is not an effective way to grow your business. Focusing on your target audience is crucial to ensuring your market efforts are focused and not wasted on the wrong audience that would not purchase from you.

Step 2: Design

Designing a website and/or landing pages that speaks to your target audience.

Why is this important? Your conversation rate will be higher. The worst thing that can happen is your target audience comes to your website and leaves without connecting. They leave because they find the content bland, too general, cliché, and doesn’t’ solve their problems. You don’t want to lose the opportunity of working with someone who you can help.

Step 3: Dominate

This is the step that everyone wants to do first but needs to do it last.

The reason why online businesses can dominate is that they have done the necessary work to build a strong foundation for their business. Unless you have a huge marketing budget, you need to have a plan to succeed and that includes completing steps 1 and 2 first. Then, you can create an automated marketing system that will generate massive growth to have a successful, thriving business doing what you love.
